FaceHugger Ring

FaceHugger: 

Monstrous Beauty

This ring is based on the fictional space monster, Facehugger from the movie Alien. My tribute piece to H.R. Giger who designed Alien and every detail in the movie. I wanted to create a series of jewellery that is crafted in the highest quality and full of playfulness. The reason I chose facehugger as my inspiration for my collection is that I found the evil characters to often be more attractive than the main characters because of their aggressiveness and dark characteristic design. Facehugger, is an alien monster that resembles a pair of skeletal hands that are fused together with a spine-like tail. It latches onto human’s faces and ‘hugs’ them before implanting the alien embryo into the human host before dying. Facehugger has  monstrous gestures, distorted and weird skin textures, and a symbolic meaning in the story so I redesigned it and made it into sterling silver ring to show tribute.
