About Devil Claw

Origins of the Name

Devil Claw was founded in 2015 by designer RRonald Chan during his undergraduate program in jewellery design at OCADU. While working on a bangle project, Ronald stumbled upon the captivating form and textured surface of the African desert plant known as the devil claw. The name originates from the desert plant known for surviving in extreme conditions — dry environments, limited resources, and constant exposure. The brand reflects a similar condition: existing within compression, uncertainty, and persistence.
