Ronald Chan is a designer based in Hong Kong. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in 2015 with a degree in Material Art and Design (Jewelry). With a strong foundation in goldsmithing and CAD/CAM technology, Ronald's work seamlessly blends digital precision with traditional craftsmanship, creating intricate, narrative-driven jewelry. Additionally, he has several years of experience as a technical project manager in jewelry manufacturing.
Early in his career, Ronald collaborated with Chow Tai Fook, where he was given the opportunity to participate in a range of art projects and exhibitions. These experiences not only broadened his creative perspective but also deepened his interest in pushing jewellery beyond conventional luxury—toward something conceptually rich and culturally expressive.
As the art director of Devil Claw Design, Ronald channels this hybrid background into a brand rooted in subculture, rebellion, and alternative aesthetics. Each collection challenges aesthetic conformity—eschewing fixed symbols in favor of fluid, ever-evolving designs that reflect music, tattoos, fine craftsmanship, and the layered tensions of Hong Kong culture. Devil Claw isn’t just jewellery—it’s a statement of identity, attitude, and creative resistance.
